#HamroNamaste

Brief:

To remove the prejudice against migrant workers who had returned amidst the COVID 19 pandemic.

Insights:

Nepali migrant workers contribute significantly to the country's GDP through remittance, mainly from the Middle East and Southeast Asia. However, many of these workers lost their jobs or faced unpaid leave due to the global lockdown, leading to financial struggles.

Approach & Execution:

As migrant workers returned home amidst the pandemic, they faced stigma and prejudice. To address this, Unilever Nepal, in partnership with UNICEF and creative partner Outreach, launched the #HamroNamaste campaign. The digital video featured Nepal's beloved film star, Rajesh Hamal, delivering a powerful spoken word poetry to promote empathy and encourage support for these returning workers. Rajesh Hamal's influence helped the message resonate widely, fostering empathy and support for those who have played a crucial role in Nepal's economy.
